Google formally announced yesterday that it would be expanding its Chromecast with Google TV to eight additional European nations. India and three other new nations will now officially receive the Chromecast with Google TV.

GOOGLE TV AND CHROMECAST ARE FINALLY COME TO INDIA The major news here is that the Chromecast with Google TV is finally making its way to India, where Google’s presence over the previous few years has been somewhat hit-or-miss. The Chromecast is one of only two Google TV products available in the nation, along with the Realmes Google TV stick.

In addition to India, Chromecast with Google TV is now available in three more nations. Google’s streamer will also be officially sold in New Zealand, Taiwan, and South Korea, the company told FlatPanelsHD .

Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Austria. In addition, it will visit Taiwan, New Zealand, South Korea, and India in addition to Europe.

On June 21, Chromecast with Google TV will be made available in Europe. The streaming device is already listed in the Google Store for the eight additional locations, complete with pricing. Google, however, has not yet provided any additional information in India, New Zealand, or South Korea. The product is not yet available on the Google Store in those areas.

However, Google has made the Chromecast with Google TV available for pre-order in Taiwan for $1,999.

Google adds that the device will receive an upgrade to support the new localized features in these four areas as well as those in Europe. The Google TV platform has seen regional changes since its debut. The homescreen in the US and other fully supported territories features a number of tabs containing live content, movie and TV show suggestions, and other things. However, some of those tabs and functionalities might not be present on the homescreen in nations lacking full support. Speaking to AndroidWorld , Google added that Google TV’s improved support for local streaming providers in these 12 new countries was a contributing factor in this week’s growth.

The same device that debuted in the United States two years ago is the Chromecast with Google TV that will soon be available in India, Additional Zealand, and all of these other new regions. It supports Dolby Vision/Atmos content output in 4K. Additionally, it includes 8GB of storage. Additionally, it utilizes a remote control in addition to native apps, unlike the series of devices with the same name, which only use phone controls. It also runs an Android-based operating system. The gadget continues to allow casting content like a standard Chromecast would.
