This week, Samsung will introduce its second smartphone featuring an under-display camera (UDC). On August 10, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be available. The flexible display conceals the internal selfie camera. According to leaks, this year’s solution will be a significant upgrade from the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the first Samsung UDC phone. We can now do some form of comparison.

The first-gen UDC system from Samsung has quite a few flaws. One was that the camera wasn’t completely covered by the display. Thanks to a lower pixel density just above the sensor, it was easily apparent. This year, the business appears to have remedied that problem. @SamsungRydah on Twitter, who has a good track record with Samsung leaks, just shared a slide that demonstrates how much less noticeable the under-display camera will be on the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The Korean company is reportedly transitioning to a new type of UDC panel this year, according to the leaked slide, which appears to be from official documentation. On the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the display above the camera will use Scatter pixels rather than Collective pixels. As a result, the pixel density can be increased by 40%, from 94 PPI to 132 PPI (pixels per inch).

Advertisement The Galaxy Z Fold 4 screen will appear more uniform above the camera with a better pixel density. As a result, any text or image displayed there would have less pixelation. However, because they are now denser, pixels might block more light. The image quality would suffer as a result (not that it was any good on the Galaxy Z Fold 3). Hopefully Samsung has worked on it and the second generation of their UDC technology will be noteworthy. The original solution essentially served as a marketing ploy.

THE galaxy z fold 4 brings advancements in a variety of additional ways The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will enhance the rear cameras in addition to the under-display camera. According to reports, the device will include a 50-megapixel main camera on the back, which will be accompanied by 12-megapixel ultrawide and 10-megapixel 3X optical zoom cameras. Additionally, software improvements for higher-quality images and videos are anticipated.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have an enhanced design and a more robust construction, among other improvements. Additionally, it’s anticipated that Samsung would provide software that is better suited to the foldable form factor. Along with the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5 series, and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, the new foldable will be available on August 10.
