Google formally announced the production of the Pixel Watch during I/O 2022. However, since the Pixel 7 isn’t expected until later this year, we only received an teaser .

A bulbous cover glass that wraps all the way to the metal sides is the first of three separate parts that make up Google’s Pixel Watch. With this dome-shaped design, Google is striving for an edge-to-edge appearance, yet the display is essentially a flat surface with black bezels surrounding it.

At three o’clock, there is a bottle cap-shaped crown that protrudes straight out and is clickable and reportedly tactile. Above it is a button. The first of two tiny holes is located there, while the other one may be found on the left edge adjacent to a lengthy speaker cutout. Here, Google uses recycled stainless steel.

Two watchband slots with buttons at the right enable for quick changeover with a twist anywhere on the edge. Google uses Fitbit’s infinity band design, which comprises of two loops and a pill-shaped peg, while Fitbit uses a proprietary strap system.

The third element, the metal bottom dome, is quite thick, as is the metal border. For some symmetry, sensors are positioned horizontally in the center. Google only recently brought up continuous heart rate and sleep monitoring.

50 meters of water resistance, GPS, and an optional 4G LTE model are other features that have been verified for the Pixel Watch.

Swiping up from the bottom of the screen gives access to smart notifications and an upgraded Wear OS UI with more fluid navigation. Google wants the Pixel Watch to be touch-, voice-, and glance-enabled.

The new Assistant UI was previously demonstrated by Google with a four-color light bar at the bottom of the screen, but results and responses, such as the weather, now have an improved aesthetic appearance.

The business promotes the ability to access Google Wallet for contactless purchases and public transportation while leaving your phone at home and still receiving Maps directions.

Using a new Google Home app, you can manage smart home appliances (such as lighting and thermostats) and receive delivery or visitor alerts (Nest Doorbell).

Google also emphasized the extensive Fitbit integration. A list display of all your stats, similar to that on current Fitbit smartwatches, will first be available on the Pixel Watch.
