One of the greatest problems with Samsung’s foldable smartphones has been their short battery life. Larger batteries can’t be used in those devices due to their complexity and the large amount of space the hinge takes up. However, the business was still able to boost the Flip model’s battery capacity by 400mAh this year. The 3,700mAh battery cell of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is powerful. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 uses a more cost-effective Eco2 OLED Plus display technology while maintaining the same 4,400mAh battery as its predecessor. A more power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is also present in both handsets. A battery life test demonstrates the advantages of these upgrades.

In a battery life test, THE GALAXY Z FLIP 4 AND FOLD 4 PERFORM WELL. In a recent thorough battery life test, YouTuber TechDroider pitted the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 against the OnePlus 10 Pro (5,000mAh), the Xiaomi 12S Ultra (4,860mAh), the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (5,000mAh), and the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max (4,352mAh). Surprisingly, despite having much smaller batteries, both foldables outlasted the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

A marathon gaming session that lasted more than two hours kicked off the test. It was followed by three hours of nonstop, 1080p YouTube streaming. TechDroider then spent the next hour or so online. Next came an hour-long Instagram session. use of the camera up until the death of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The time period lasted eight hours and 56 minutes, and the temperature rose to 50.4C. (122.72F)

Along with handling thermals better, the clamshell foldable had a maximum temperature of 42.1C. (107.78F). The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a slightly longer battery life, lasting nine hours and 18 minutes. Thermally, it was even better at 39.7C. (103.46F).

This is evidence of the advantages in thermal performance and power efficiency that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor manufactured by TSMC brings over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powering the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The latter chipset was produced by Samsung, a Korean company that has struggled in recent years, as is well known.

Regarding the remaining gadgets, the OnePlus 10 Pro finally gave up a minute after the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but it became rather warm, reaching a peak temperature of 45.1C. (113.18F). With a temperature of 44.1C, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra shut down after nine hours and 38 minutes (111.38F).
