People frequently use Disney as an example of how a $8 can still deliver a ton of material whenever they complain about Netflix’s price. After a few months, we won’t be able to draw that comparison. People are going to be angry since Disney will have a hefty price increase.

Disney is one of the most widely used streaming services and has a low monthly pricing of $7.99 in most territories. It has access to nearly a century’s worth of films and television programs, including recent releases and original material. In contrast to older services like Netflix and Hulu, it is still popular despite being relatively new.

Disney will see a fairly significant price increase. Disney has performed admirably over the last four years, but even this streaming service had to raise its prices eventually. We simply had no idea it would be by this much! Disney (via The Verge ) claims that the business would increase its price in the US from $7.99/month to $10.99/month. The increase is roughly 38%.

Advertisement This price increase will not simply impact Disney . As you may be aware, there is also a package offer that combines Disney , Hulu, and ESPN . Guess what, those costs are also increasing (is there anything sacred?).

Your monthly fee for a single, independent, ad-supported Hulu subscription has increased to $7.99 (from $6.99). A subscription with no ads will cost $14.99 per month instead of $12.99. An ad-supported plan for ESPN will increase from $6.99/month to $9.99/month.

The cost of the packaged plans will also increase. The cost of a subscription that includes Disney (ad-free), Hulu, and ESPN will increase from $13.99 to $14.99 per month. You’ll pay $12.99/month for a package that includes those three services, all of which have advertisements. The most expensive package costs $19.99/month and includes ESPN with ads along with ad-free Disney and Hulu.

Advertisement The $9.99/month option is available if you only want Disney and Hulu, both of which have advertisements. Speaking of advertisements, Disney revealed that it would launch an ad-supported tier in December. The standalone tier with ads will set you back $7.99 per month. Therefore, the lower ad-supported tier will now cost the same as the standard plan.
