Although it once dominated the Android smartphone industry, HTC has all but disappeared in recent years. As of right now, HTC has released its first teaser for the June 28 release of a Viveverse smartphone.

This week, HTC officially hinted at a launch event of some sort on June 28, 2022, and it’s pretty clear what’s in store. This information was posted to Twitter .

Although the teaser itself is somewhat uninteresting, we can clearly make out HTC’s Viveverse logo hidden beneath a smartphone. However, the teaser doesn’t provide much else save the fact that it’s a save the date. HTC merely states:

Register for the Future

It’s obvious what that means since Viveverse is mentioned in the tweet. With the Viveverse serving as HTC’s rival to Meta’s initiatives, both companies are heavily invested in the metaverse. The metaverse, according to reports from earlier this year, would be a major focus of HTC’s return to high-end handsets.

With this reveal just around the corner, we’ll soon find out what precisely HTC is bringing to the table. Due to the massive COVID-19 outbreaks in Taiwan, the home nation of HTC, the device’s April release date was delayed.
