The August 2022 Android security patch is still being distributed by Samsung to its compatible devices. The business has made the new security upgrade for the Galaxy A72 and Galaxy A32 available. Both models are now being rolled out in additional markets, including Europe, after starting a few days ago in Latin America. The upgrades should shortly become universal.

AUGUST SECURITY UPDATE reaches Europe’s Galaxy A32 andamp; A72 Users of the Galaxy A72 in Russia are now receiving the August SMR (Security Maintenance Release) with firmware version A725FXXU4BVG2. In Russia, the Galaxy A32 is also receiving the update with firmware version A325FXXU2BVH1. With the most recent update, neither model gains any new features. The only system stability and reliability enhancements and bug fixes from last month are mentioned in the changelog .

The August SMR has previously been described by Samsung. Over 60 vulnerabilities are patched, with roughly half of those being unique to Galaxy devices. They have an impact on numerous parts of the Android-powered smartphones and tablets made by Korean companies. Some of these, according to the business, are serious issues that jeopardize the security of parts like App Lock, Knox VPN, Samsung DeX, NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, among others.

Advertisement With the August SMR, Google patched the remaining half of the vulnerabilities that were affecting the whole Android ecosystem, including Samsung’s products. Only one of those was classified as a critical vulnerability by the creator of Android. Over Bluetooth, it permitted remote code execution. Therefore, anyone may launch a devastating attack by remotely running code on a victim’s device.

As of right now, Samsung’s Galaxy A72 and Galaxy A32 smartphones are receiving all of these security updates. If you haven’t already, users of either of these phones will shortly receive the update over the air (OTA). You’ll receive a notification when the OTA package is ready to download. From the Settings app, you may manually check for updates as well.

THESE TWO SAMSUNG MID-RANGES WILL BOTH RECEIVE ANDROID 13 The Galaxy A72 and Galaxy A32 were introduced by Samsung in the first quarter of 2021. Early 2023 may see the release of the two devices’ major Android update. Prior to turning its attention to mid-range models, the Korean company would first cover its flagship models.
