Despite the fact that the messaging app Telegram has always been free, recent developments have made it clear that this may soon change. The founder of Telegram clarified today what Telegram Premium will entail for the network and made it public that it will launch later this month.
Pavel Durov, the founder of the platform, announced in an message on Telegram that a subscription-based service will be available later this month. According to him, the new premium service will be superior to what Telegram is currently providing.
The largest admirers of the network’s platform were a major factor in the decision to launch Telegram Premium. Durov clarifies:
After some consideration, we concluded that adding a fee to those raised restrictions was the only practical way to satisfy our most discerning fans while keeping our current services free. This is why we’re launching Telegram Premium this month, a membership service that lets anybody access more features, speed, and resources. Users will also be able to sponsor Telegram and gain access to the group that gets new features first.
The good news is that existing Telegram users won’t notice any changes as a result of Telegram Premium. Telegram will continue to be free, and individuals who do not subscribe to Premium will still receive benefits. Extra-large file sizes are one benefit of the offering, and Premium users will be able to view the files, media, and stickers they send. Users who want to use a premium reply that is currently in use on a message will also be able to do so for free.
Several stickers and reactions that will be included in Telegram Premium were uncovered last month, but today’s post clarifies how those will function for free users.
Although Telegram has not yet provided any information regarding the price of this paid tier of service, it appears that we will find out soon enough.
