The proliferation of free game demos on Google Stadia has been one of the platform’s recent high points, despite its many ups and downs. Stadia has really doubled down on game demos recently, nearly doubling its portfolio in the past week alone. It is a brilliant illustration of what cloud gaming can offer.

MORE GAMES ARE AVAILABLE FOR FREE TRYING ON STADIA Free game trials were first supported by Google Stadia in 2021, and since then, a large number of more games have been added. Risk of Rain 2, Jackbox Party Pack 8, and Humankind were a few prominent games that supported free trials.

Google, meanwhile, has more than doubled the number of free game demos accessible on Stadia as of this past Friday, as reported on Reddit . The library now contains 35 additional game demos, up from the previous 25 or so. The extended list consists of:

It goes without saying that there is a sizable selection of games that users may test out without even registering for Stadia. To play, all you need is a Google account. Most of the brand-new demos give you up to 30 minutes with the complete game before requiring you to buy it or use Stadia Pro to continue playing.

Of course, it is not shocking that Stadia has just begun to offer a lot more free demos. Google changed the way demos operate on the platform earlier this year, basically enabling game publishers to give a demo of any game already offered on Stadia with just one click.

MORE DEMOS WERE RELEASED IN A SINGLE DAY THAN NEW GAMES ALL YEAR. While it’s wonderful to see Stadia focusing even more on one of its distinctive qualities, it’s crucial to keep in mind what else the platform is up to.

With the release of 35 new game demos on Friday, Stadia has managed to release more demos in a single day than it has new games so far in 2022.

Only 30 new games have been added to the platform in 2022, despite an initial commitment to release 100 new games by the end of the year, as we’ve been following in our weekly Stadia Changelog column.
