After being openly teased by the development team behind the ROM project, it appears like the well-known Paranoid Android could soon be made available for the Pixel 6 Pro.

For Google’s flagship lines, third-party ROM support is often there, however the Pixel 6 series has received less support in the months following introduction than earlier series models. You may certainly download a variety of ROMs, but being one of the largest projects, Paranoid Android for Pixel 6 Pro is still a great choice for developers.

We were teased with a screenshot of the most recent Sapphire build fully booted on a Pixel 6 Pro by tweet from the official Paranoid Android account. Although you can’t immediately go out and download and flash Paranoid Android on your phone, you might be able to very soon.

No more information, such as timelines or prospective launch dates, were provided. The inclusion of Google’s newest and best flagship would be a major step, though, and may potentially mean that we see even more Pixel support in the future given that the Paranoid Android Sapphire releases are only available to a small device pool.

Although this is fantastic news, it’s important to remember that the AOSPA project has been struggling to survive lately. The developers of Paranoid Android have made an effort to integrate an OTA update option with an OEM-like updating experience. The work of the enthusiasts who created this remarkable ROM has been hampered by financial concerns and the expense of hosting servers to host builds.

Running a custom ROM is not something we normally recommend for most users, but it is a terrific method to access customization features not included in AOSP releases and provides a long-term support route for gadgets that the manufacturer has since abandoned.
