Some Nest users have experienced cameras and other smart home gadgets going offline since last night and staying offline ever since. The (US) West Coast appears to be the only significant region affected by this outage, though.
Some Nest owners have been unable to check in to the mobile apps or website since this morning’s early hours (PT). Cameras, thermostats, and Protect detectors go offline if they can sign in. There are threads on Twitter, the Google Nest Community and the Reddit .
Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area are the main affected areas. Both the Nest Cam on a Hub Max in Los Angeles and our Nest devices on the East Coast are unaffected.
When some customers contacted customer service, they were informed that the issue might be with ISP Astound Broadband (Wave).
It should be noted that no such outage has been reported on status.nest.com as of this afternoon, despite the fact that some users have been clearly out since last night.
