The WellCare Today Samsung Galaxy 4 LTE Smartwatch With HealthAssist is more than just a fashionable smartwatch (beginning at $199, plus a monthly subscription). It also records your daily activities, takes ECG readings, monitors your blood oxygen level and heart rate, and links you with an emergency response agent when you fall or otherwise require assistance. Numerous caregiver features are now available, such as messaging, hands-free two-way calling, and reminders for appointments and medications. Even sending your doctor your real-time health data is possible with a Remote Patient Monitoring tool. Together with the watch’s Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS location tracking, all of these features elevate it to the top of our list of mobile medical alert system Editors’ Choices.

A CLASSY AND STURDY DESIGN The system’s foundation is the Editors’ Choice-winning Samsung Galaxy Watch4, but WellCare Today’s HealthAssist software is the real star here (more on this later). The HealthAssist software turns the Watch4 into a capable medical alert system while preserving all of the Wear OS and Samsung app capabilities that you would normally get from a conventional Watch4.

In addition to the 42mm ($299) and 46mm ($329) varieties of the Classic model (with a rotating bezel) in black or silver, WellCare Today now sells basic 40mm ($199) and 44mm ($229) models in black, silver, or rose gold.

We received the black version of the typical 44mm watch from WellCare Today. Our test model is equipped with a smooth, lightweight rubber wrist strap and measures roughly 1.7 inches by 0.4 inches (WD) and weighs about 1.1 ounces. Despite its fashionable appearance, this watch is quite tough: It has an IP68 weather resistance certification and fulfills the MIL-STD-810G durability standard. The 1.4-inch AMOLED screen offers a 480×480 pixel resolution and a Corning Gorilla Glass cover for security.
