Recently, Samsung and Xiaomi both debuted some excellent foldables, and they were present to compare them. Compare the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Both of these opened like books. Unfortunately, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 was only available in China at the time this article was written. Though nothing is definite yet, we hope that will soon change.

In terms of the worldwide foldable market, Samsung essentially has a monopoly; additional competition would be welcome. Xiaomi would undoubtedly offer it. When compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the MIX Fold 2 is a more capable and intriguing smartphone. We will first list the two phones’ characteristics before comparing them in a variety of areas.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is significantly slimmer in both its folded and unfolded states. When unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is 6.3mm thick compared to the MIX Fold 2’s 5.4mm. When folded, Samsung’s foldable measures 14.2–15.8mm, while the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 merely measures 11.2mm. When folded, the difference is quite noticeable.

On the other hand, the main display of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 measures 8.02 inches. It is a Foldable LTPO2 OLED display with a resolution of 2160 x 1914. It has a 120Hz display with a projected color range of up to 1 billion. Both Dolby Vision and HDR10 are supported. The display of the phone can reach a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits. However, you’ll be happy to learn that both of these phones meet that requirement. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM power both devices. They also provide UFS 3.1 flash storage, albeit both phones support a variety of types.

On Samsung’s device, Android 12L already has the company’s proprietary skin installed. The MIX Fold 2 comes with Android 12 and Xiaomi’s skin. In spite of the fact that using these two is quite different from one another, they both perform admirably. Both of these phones are more than capable of handling web browsing, photo editing, and gaming without any issues.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has an internal battery that is 4,500mAh larger than the 4,400mAh seen in the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Although there is not much of a difference, the MIX Fold 2 does offer substantially bigger displays. Since your usage will vary from that of the user next to you, it is difficult to provide precise figures. When it comes to foldable cellphones, it is particularly true.

You’ll quickly deplete the battery if you wind up utilizing the main display exclusively while trying your best to ignore the cover display. You’ll probably have a really good battery life if you use the two phones together like most users would. In general, these two phones have good battery life, though intense gaming can alter that. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 sports a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. An 8-megapixel telephoto and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera are both featured on the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. How are the pictures? Yes, they are, though not the greatest available.
