Google announced at I/O 2022 that it would upgrade several of its first-party apps for large screens in order to promote tablets. Google TV, the Play Store, and YouTube Music are all included in this.

Starting today, we’ll update more than 20 Google apps so they look fantastic on large displays and can fully utilize the added capabilities.

YouTube Music: Google unveiled the tablet version of the revamped playlist user interface earlier this week. The track list is on the right, and the cover image and controls are on the left. Earlier this year, this was hinted at. Google Maps has been updated to provide detailed information at a glance to aid in navigating your surroundings. There are parallels to the desktop version of maps.google.com. Contacts list is on the left side of a two-column message display. Google Play: Each feed’s/navigation section’s rail and cards with information. Screenshots additionally reveal the adoption of a left-side navigation rail as opposed to a bottom bar by apps like Gmail, Google Home, and Google TV, precisely like Google Photos is doing right now. Google Lens and One are two additional apps getting tablet updates.
