Recently, the OnePlus 10T made waves when it broke in half during a bend test performed by Zack Nelson of the well-known YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. It brought back flashbacks of the OnePlus 10 Pro, which met the same demise in January at the same hands. Additionally, the camera bump on both phones was broken at the same location. The public and the media naturally began to question the devices’ durability as a result. The previous time, OnePlus chose to ignore their inquiries, but not this time. A formal declaration about the situation has been made by the company. Unsurprisingly, it is disputing claims that the OnePlus 10T has structural problems.

THE ONEPLUS 10T IS SAID BY ONEPLUS TO BE SOLID IN STRUCTURE. In a statement to Gadgets 360, OnePlus claimed that before launch, the OnePlus 10T had undergone extensive durability and structural strength testing. The manufacturer made a suggestion that the phone is resilient enough to withstand typical wear and tear throughout the course of its lifetime.

The statement report states that the OnePlus 10T satisfies or exceeds all of the company’s stringent durability testing processes, which include a pressure test in which the smartphone is suspended and weight is applied to its center from both the front and back. In this test in the OnePlus lab, the OnePlus 10T’s improved structural engineering design let it to withstand an external force of over 45kg (nearly 99 pounds).

Advertisement The business continued, “When designing, engineering, and manufacturing OnePlus devices, we ensure they not only offer a stunning and unobtrusive design but are also durable so they can sustain daily use. According to OnePlus, the Zacks bend test does not accurately reflect the strength of the phone. And to a certain extent, that is true. Zacks’ durability tests are rigorous and don’t really reflect the everyday situations your phone may face. He also passed the scratch and burn tests in addition to the bend test.

He has been performing these durability tests, nevertheless, for years. Most of the devices he tortured managed to live. Not many of the few that did break did so as quickly as the OnePlus 10T and OnePlus 10 Pro. Even worse, they both broke at the exact same place. Therefore, it is not unjustified for the public to question their structural integrity and design.

In normal use, the OnePlus 10T might not shatter into two parts, but in the event of any unforeseen events, be aware that its structural integrity may not be as strong as that of other rivals. The phone is a performance powerhouse for its price range aside from that. For more information, see our review.
