The updated screensaver for Google TV, which brought Proactive Personalized Results to your TV last year, is now available.
Proactive Personalized Results are now generally available on Google TV, at least for users of Chromecast with Google TV, as of this afternoon. Within the last hour, we’ve seen the feature become live on at least four distinct Chromecasts across numerous accounts. A TCL 6-Series TV is one notable exception where the feature has yet to show up for us on any non-Google devices. This feature was originally made available on a Mecool KD3 streaming stick as part of a restricted release.
Google stated that the rollout is still in progress on Twitter .
What benefits does this brand-new Google TV screensaver offer? The Proactive Personalized Results, which are run by Google Assistant, appear on the TV alongside the standard screensaver images. On the new screensaver, you’ll see results for quotes, films, music, and even the weather. Depending on your interests, you may also see sports news and scores.
The function is set on by default, but it is comparatively simple to disable by navigating to Settings, Accounts, and Sign in, then Google Account, then toggling Proactive Personalized Results.
This modification came shortly after Google modified Ambient Mode to work with Google TV rather than Android TV.
This updated screensaver, but with a different look, was previously unveiled by Google TV last year. The function was initially planned to launch alongside Profiles, but they were ultimately postponed. Google TV Profiles were relaunched last month, but consumers haven’t yet begun to receive them.
