Motorola is clearly focused on the Chinese market while operating under Lenovo’s umbrella, frequently releasing new devices in China before other markets. This week, Motorola has been using Weibo to tease fresh information about its forthcoming smartphones, which are expected to include a 200MP camera and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flexible processor.

Two new posts on Weibo confirm some earlier reports concerning Motorola’s forthcoming smartphones.

To start with, one post teases a 200MP camera and confirms the smartphone will ship in July. Motorola offering this high-resolution camera at some point has long been rumored, but this is the first official confirmation of those plans. In addition, Samsung is anticipated to use a 200MP camera in its Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone.

The fact that Motorola has virtually said that its next foldable will use the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip may be even more interesting. The use of Qualcomm’s flagship chip is confirmed by a slightly cryptic teaser, and the appearance of a foldable device beneath it teases the application for the chip. Using a top-tier Qualcomm chip is not surprising because the Razr 3 was already hinted at being a flagship-level handset. Nevertheless, it’s fantastic to see that Motorola will be utilizing the most recent technology so quickly after its release. While slightly more powerful, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is also significantly more power-efficient, which is undoubtedly good news for Motorola’s foldable.
