One of the finest features of having a Fitbit is sleep tracking, and this week the Google-owned business is focusing even more on it. Fitbit owners will soon have access to Sleep Profiles, which will provide them with additional information about their sleep and potential ways to enhance it.

YOU CAN UNDERSTAND YOUR REST WITH THE HELP OF FITBIT SLEEP PROFILES. We wrote about Fitbit’s testing of Sleep Animals, which divides your sleeping patterns into six categories, in late last year. Slow Sleeping Tortoise, Uneasy Sleeping Parrot, Shallow Sleeping Hedgehog, Short Sleeping Giraffe, Segmented Sleeping Dolphin, and Sound Sleeping Bear.

With the help of those same six animals, Fitbit is now officially debuting this function as Sleep Profiles, which illustrates the findings of Fitbit’s analysis of your sleeping habits and patterns.

To determine how you sleep, Fitbit uses 10 distinct indicators of monitoring the quality of your sleep. This contains brand-new information about things like how regularly you go to bed, how long it takes you to get a good night’s sleep, and how long it takes for your sleep to be disturbed.

Fitbit clarifies:

Before reducing it to the primary variables we present in your profile, our research team’s investigation looked at 1,000 distinct aspects of sleep. These data points show a comprehensive month-long snapshot of your sleep habits and quality. They range from new measures like sleep schedule variability, time before sound sleep, and interrupted sleep to previously monitored metrics like sleep length, restfulness, and REM sleep.

The company adds that based on their age and gender, customers are given ideal ranges for each of the 10 indicators, and are then shown where they lie within that range. These outcomes are then displayed in a monthly summarizing view.

Fitbit needs at least 14 nights of sleep tracking each month to construct your sleep profile, and the profile gets more accurate the more you use your wristwatch or tracker. Results, which could differ from month to month, are displayed in the Fitbit app on the first of every month.

Then, with the advice from your sleep animal, you can learn how to sleep better.

If you establish a more regular sleep schedule or establish a nightly ritual, such as using the mindfulness material in the Fitbit app to help you fall asleep faster, you will be able to see how your sleep patterns compare to those of other people who share your sleeper type.

FITBIT SLEEP PROFILES ARE SUPPORTED BY THESE DEVICES. It’s important to note that not all Fitbit owners can access Fitbit Sleep Profiles.
To obtain this data, you must first be a paid, active Premium user, which costs $9.99 per month.
You also need a Fitbit gadget that is compatible. The following devices will be supported when Sleep Profiles launches:
