When it comes to foldables, OnePlus has always been a little reserved, but it appears the company is now ready to move forward. It appears that 2023 will see the release of the first OnePlus foldable.

According to the generally trustworthy Max J teases in a tweet , OnePlus will debut a foldable in 2023. Max also tells 9to5Google that OnePlus plans to produce a number of foldable goods in 2023.

However, there is a lot of space for speculation over what might be in store. Under Oppo’s control, we can be sure that any foldable device from OnePlus would be built on an Oppo device, and given the 2023 release date, it appears that an Oppo Find N replacement would serve in that capacity.

There will undoubtedly be some diversity available with so many foldables in the works. The Oppo Find N’s Galaxy Z Fold design would undoubtedly appeal to the more expensive market, but the Galaxy Z Flip form factor’s lower pricing may also spark some curiosity. The Flip 3 has, after all, established itself as the most successful foldable to date.

It’s also important to remember that there’s no assurance that every foldable phone released by OnePlus in 2023 will make it to the US market. It’s also feasible that a future OnePlus foldable releases solely in that one market, like the Find N did, given the stronger Oppo leadership’s priority on China. We can only hope that OnePlus will ultimately expand the availability of Oppo’s superb foldable hardware to more nations.
