Googles official Pixel smartphone cases were originally regarded for being a distinctive alternative, but that all changed with the Pixel 5a and Pixel 6 series. Now that we get a better look at the official Pixel 6a cases, we can see that they appear destined to go down in history.

A GOOGLES PIXEL 6A case is this. When the Pixel 6a was initially unveiled at Google I/O, we noticed right away that Google was bringing back the same case style that was offered with the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and the Pixel 5a. We weren’t too satisfied with the polycarbonate design that was making a comeback at the time.

Soon after, the Pixel 6s official case came under intense criticism as many users and media professionals pointed out that, months later, the cases still looked yellowed and grimy.

But it was undoubtedly too late to affect the Pixel 6a in any way.

With regards to Google’s official Pixel 6a cases, our dear friend Max Jambor today posted has shared a number of images that appear to be official.

Although nothing revolutionary is displayed in the new photographs, they do provide us a clearer view of the cases and their hues. Actually, it resembles the green and black cases Google sold for the remaining Pixel 6 models, and the overall aesthetic is the same.

Unfortunately, there is no indication that the white version of the case, which we also know is on the way, will have these images.

Will Google be able to fix the yellowing issue? So, at this point, the only real question is if Google has changed these cases in any unnoticeable ways.

Could there be a new finish or coating that resists fading? It is doable! However, there is currently no evidence to support that. However, as it is prone to fading, the transparent form of this case that isn’t already colored will need some protection.

Some people had issues with the official Pixel 6 cases in as little as a week or two, and they remained. Others, like our Kyle Bradshaw, took a little longer to notice the yellowing and stains, but they now appear really bad, as shown in the image below.

It makes sense that Google will charge $29.99 for certified Pixel 6 cases in the US and that the Pixel 6a will do the same.
