Risk of Rain 2’s Survivors of the Void expansion, which had its PC debut earlier this year, has now been made available on Google Stadia, months before console fans will be able to play the eagerly awaited DLC.

Survivors of the Void, Risk of Rain 2’s first expansion, is currently available on the Stadia store for $14.99 and increases the number of playable characters, enemies, and items. The expansion’s developers summarize it as follows:

Accept The Void as Petrichor V gets replaced in Risk of Rain 2’s first expansion! To assist you in driving the crabs back into their dimension, new survivors, monsters, stages, and a new class of items have appeared.

With this expansion, players get access to Railgunner and Void Friend, two brand-new characters. Each player has their own set of abilities and weapons, which makes the game more replayable.

Given that Google just last week stated that the Risk of Rain 2 expansion wouldn’t arrive on the platform until it debuted on consoles, the release of Survivors of the Void on Stadia today is a surprise. That happened on the same day that Survivors of the Void’s console release date was postponed to Q4 2022 by Gearbox Publishing and Hoppo Games. Given its similarities to the PC version, it does make logical that the Stadia port would receive its upgrade first.

With Google Stadia’s free trials, the basic game costs $24.99 , and other games on the service, Risk of Rain 2 can be played without charge.
