Google is making it easier to add emojis to Docs. To display a list of all related emojis, just write @ after the name or description of the desired emoji. The enter key can be used to choose an emoji after using the arrow keys to navigate through them. The chosen item will show up next to your text.
In Google Docs, you can also write @: or: to see a drop-down menu of emojis with the option to view the whole library. It displays the company’s typical emoji grid with groupings per category. You can use a search bar to look up an emoji by name or keyword.
This function was added shortly after Google Docs started to accept emoji reactions. Emoji reactions, which were introduced in April of this year, provide a less formal option to comments for expressing your opinion or response to a document’s content.
