Corona Virus left us all defenseless and without hope. The first vaccination for the virus wasn’t released for more than a year. As soon as the vaccine was introduced this year in January, pre-registrations for it on the websites of numerous reputable health organizations got underway in many nations. The organizations found it difficult to keep up with the server requirements.

One of the largest healthcare organizations in the world is Beaumont. On the organization’s official website, registrations also began. On January 8th, about 9000 people registered on the Beaumont website to receive the coronavirus immunizations. The very following day, 2500 users attempted to register for an account on the website at the same time.

The website crashed because 2500 individuals attempted to register at once. The website failed as a result of the server being overloaded with concurrently high traffic. The reputation of the organization was the topic of the news that went on air immediately after.

Following the website meltdown, Nursing Home Administering First COVID-19 Vaccine Beaumont decided to treble the server capacity. Hans Keil, the CIO at Beaumont Health, later issued a news release in which he stated:

He further explained the server crash by saying It’s similar to what happens when people try to buy concert tickets as soon as they go on sale and everyone can’t get through at the same time. Having thousands of patients trying to register at once is unprecedented in the healthcare information technology space, and our servers were maxed out.

32,000 people can receive vaccinations each day in Beaumont. The business has made the decision to boost capacity across all of its global offices. The CIO also disclosed that they have made the decision to add email services to the website, which will inform patients when their immunizations are due.
