Elite Material (EMC), a provider of copper-clad laminate (CCL), anticipates that rising demand for network communication devices would increase its sales in the second half of 2022.

The second half of this year, when sales from the network communication sector will be increasing as a percentage of company revenue, is when EMC is preparing for a ramp-up in its high-speed and low-loss CCL shipments for network switches and other devices, according to the CCL company.

According to the firm, EMC plans to increase sales of its halogen-free CCL as well as introduce new server processing platforms in the second half of 2022.

EMC reported a lower-than-expected revenue gain in the second quarter compared to the first quarter due to a decline in consumer electronics demand. The business added that it is uncertain whether demand will increase in the second half of this year. Consumer confidence is being harmed by ongoing geopolitical developments that are leading to rising inflation.

In the first half of 2022, according to EMC, revenue increased by 13.3% year over year to NT$19.9 billion (US$664.3 million), with a slight decline in gross margin from a year earlier to 23.99%. In the first half of this year, the manufacturer of CCL achieved net profits of NT$2.41 billion, an increase of 8.8% from the corresponding period in 2021, with an EPS of NT$7.23.
