A sporty SUV and a BMW 3 Series sedan will be featured in the first wave of vehicles offered under the Neue Klasse brand. Although it hasn’t provided any additional information, the corporation has high hopes for its new endeavor. By the end of 2030, according to the BMW CEO, sales of Neue Klass vehicles “should already account for more than half our global sales” (via BMW ).

Although it is unknown if the Neue Klass family will consist only of electric vehicles, the manufacturer has already made suggestions that a few future models may have hydrogen drivetrains. Although it would be premature for BMW to abandon ICE automobiles in the near future because many markets lack the essential EV charging infrastructure, things are looking good for the company’s electric vehicles.

BMW announced in July that sales of its electric vehicles have increased significantly in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. The first all-electric Neue Klasse vehicle, according to a report from BMW Blog that names a reputable source, will be a new BMW iX, although a BMW 3 Series EV based on the Neue Klasse platform is also rumored to be in the works.
