Bill Gates, the creator of Microsoft, admitted this week that he does not use the company’s Surface Duo, but rather an Android phone with a large display. Bill Gates’ daily smartphone is a Galaxy Z Fold 3, instead.
In his AMA thread, Bill Gates finally revealed which smartphone he uses in response to one of the Reddit questions . a Galaxy Z Fold 3 from Samsung. It is not surprising that Gates uses an Android cellphone because he has mentioned using Android several times in the past, even as recently as 2017.
Why does Gates specifically utilize a Fold 3? After all, he claims to experiment with several ones. He notes that because of the size of the Folds display, he can get away with utilizing just that device plus a portable computer. Due to Samsung’s close relationship with Microsoft, which enables the company’s different gadgets to interface incredibly effectively with Windows, it is possible that he also uses a Samsung phone.
Bill Gates has previously expressed his preference for using an Android phone over an iPhone, but this is the first time he has been specific about the particular model. He also mentioned that Android is more versatile than iOS in 2021, during an interview on Clubhouse , that some Android manufacturers pre-install Microsoft products, and that he wants to keep track of everything.
The mildly amusing part of this is that Gates doesn’t use Microsoft’s Surface Duo smartphone. With two internal screens on a hinge made to provide you more area for apps and getting things done, that device shares many of the same purposes as Samsung’s foldable. Perhaps Gates simply wants well-designed software, a good camera, and updates that actually arrive on schedule.
