Motorola today also unveiled two conventional smartphones in addition to the Razr 2022 foldable: the Moto X30 Pro flagship and the Moto S30 Pro premium mid-ranger. The former is the first 200MP camera phone in existence.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE MOTO X30 PRO The Moto X30 Pro has a lot going for it, but its standout feature is the 200MP camera. It’s Samsung’s first-generation ISOCELL HP1 sensor, which was unveiled in 2017. The camera uses pixel binning technology and has rather small 0.64m pixels to capture more light in low-light conditions. It can take 50MP still pictures with 22 pixel binning (1.28 million pixels), and 12.5MP pictures with 44 pixel binning (2.56 million pixels). 8K videos may be recorded with this 200MP sensor.
Motorola has coupled the primary camera with a 12MP telephoto lens with a disappointing 2X optical zoom limit and a 50MP ultrawide lens. In the relatively small slot at the top of the display on the front, we have a 60MP selfie camera.
The Moto X30 Pro has a 6.67-inch curved OLED display with FHD resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Motorola claims that the phone’s peak brightness is 1,200 nits, which isn’t the highest but should be sufficient for use in the brightest settings. It is a DCI-P3 color gamut, 10-bit, HDR10 certified screen ( via ). The phone also includes a fingerprint scanner for the display.
The Moto X30 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s newest and most advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU. Motorola is supplying the phone with 512GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage and up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The phone is powered by a 4,610 mAh battery that supports 125W wired rapid charging. The business promises a 19-minute charge from 0 to 100%. Also supported by the phone is 50W wireless fast charging. It comes pre-installed with Android 12 with the Lenovo-owned brands’ MyUI 4.0 UI skin.
Advertisement For the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, Motorola has set the Moto X30 Pro flagship at CNY 3,699 (approximately $548). Costing roughly $668, the enhanced 12GB 512GB variant is CNY 4,499. The phone is available in Black and White.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE MOTO S30 PRO The Moto S30 Pro is a somewhat underpowered smartphone that is not a flagship. Here, we are still given a 6.55-inch, 10-bit, curved, FHD display with 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it has a DCI-P3 color gamut, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and HDR10 certification. However, Motorola has cleverly made cuts in other areas.
First off, the Snapdragon 888 chipset within the device is a generation old. The back’s 50MP main camera uses an OmniVisions OV50A sensor. A 13MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth sensor are placed on either side of it. The Moto S30 Pro offers a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Other advantages include an Android 12-based operating system and a 4,400 mAh battery with 68W rapid charging.
Advertisement Price points for the Moto S30 Pro range from CNY 1,999 (about $326) for the 8GB 128GB configuration to CNY 2,899 (about $330) for the top-tier 12GB 512GB model. The color possibilities for this phone are Blue and Black. Today, Motorola’s native China launches both of its new smartphones. They are not yet officially available everywhere.
