A Farewell to Improvs

I used to improvise at this theater a lot, called Dad's Garage, for about 6 years... actually creepin' up on 7 years now. yikes!

Here is an image of fellow Dad's Ensemble member, George Faughnan, doing what George does best... loving bacon. Oh I mean, "being funny."

Improv is a young man's game, and as such, this weekend I am officially retiring from The Dad's Garage Ensemble. I am performing in one final Theatresports show this weekend as an Ensemble Member. There won't be a memorial service or anything, just a regular type show, and I'll be in it.

I've gotten so much out of my 7 years at Dad's Garage as an Ensemble Member, I can't even begin to explain. I got to be part of something great, a place full of like minded people all trying to make each other laugh. It was a dream, and I've got 7 years worth of memories to laugh at.

Those of you who live in or around Atlanta, The show will be saturday night at 10:30pm at Dad's Garage. Maybe I'll suck? Maybe you'll be there to find out? It's short notice I know, so if you cannot make it, don't worry... we'll just never speak again... only kidding...

For info on buying tickets or making reservations go here.

I can't say I didn't see this coming, mainly because you told me about it last week. Still sad. I'll be there Saturday, heckling you.

Wha..th..cuh..huh? Leaving Dad's?

Well it truly has been quite a run. I've seen about one hundred billion of your shows in the seven year span, and can honestly say I learned so much from you. I'm sorry I couldn't be in Atlanta to see your last show.

All time favorite Theatresports character: The archetypal bully with the dirt bike.

All time favorite Scandal character: The Rock Golem

Another favorite: SWAT team guy in a game of shoulda said. I've never seen you so happy with an audience suggestion as you were with that one.

Jon, thanks man, that means a lot. I love characters on dirt bikes. I'm working on a "Post Apocalyptic Zombie Killing Dirt Bike riding Mad Max with Twin sawed off Shotguns Character."

What's going to happen to Lil' Tommo? Did you kill him off last Saturday or will it be the cliffhanger for this weekend?

The place and the thing was like magic. Pretty depressing, but I suppose everything has a time a place. I hope there is a massive online neverending D&D game lying in wait in your future to take the place of playing-many-characters.

Man if I had've know sooner I would've tried to make it.
You should post a review of how it went.

Now you'll have to go back and do anniversary guest appearances.
