Dean Gray Tuesday

Mash-up group Dean Gray (consisting of two great mash-up artists Party Ben and Team9) made a terrific mash-up of the Greenday album American Idiot, one of our favorite albums from this year.

Well Warner Bros. has attempeted to censor this great album on the basis of fighting "piracy." Mash-up albums are not piracy. A Mash-up album does not take away sales from the original music the source material is taken from, if anything mash-ups are proven to increase the sales of the originals. And since we at clunkyrobot not only bought the Green Day album, but also encouraged everyone to buy it, I feel entitled, nay I feel OBLIGATED to download this mash-up album.

In protest to this senseless squashing of art, websites all over the net are mirroring downloads of the American Edit album. The same way they did for DJ Danger Mouse's Grey Album. So go get it, while you can, because everybody knows that what the record companies want... they get.

The recording industry is way overzealous these days. The greedy jerks! I heard one of the mash-ups combining Green Day and Oasis. I really like mash-ups. The Kleptones were the first mash ups you kindly exposed me to. I sure would have liked to hear this one too. How dare those record vultures in $2000 Armani suits censor something so cool and imaginative!!

If you haven't already, it's worth checking the site out again - Dean Gray Tuesday seems to have been a smashing success.
